Strategic Direction, General Management

Barry Gleason is a senior Travel Industry executive with more than 25 years experience.   He has expertise in Strategy, Business Development, Account Management, and Supplier Relations.

Most recently, Barry completed consulting assignments in Hospitality connectivity for Hudson Crossing, Caesars Entertainment,Travelocity, MGM Resorts, Lastminute.com, and Busbud.

Barry previously managed Expedia’s Destination Services business for EMEA, based in Paris.  In this role he managed a team responsible for contracting all destination activities in EMEA for sale on all Expedia’s points of sale.

Prior to this he was Vice President, Expedia Connect, and drove Expedia’s direct connect initiative with hotels.  This latter position followed from an acquisition by Expedia of Newtrade Technologies, where Barry was instrumental in building the value and selling the company to Expedia.  In the six years in this position, more than 30,000 hotels were connected to Expedia, enabling Expedia to sell chain properties and increasing revenue by hundreds of millions of dollars.

Barry has extensive experience in the travel industry, also having worked at Accovia as Vice President, eCommerce where he launched and managed Accovia’s eCommerce business for Tour Operators.  Prior to this he was Director American Express Business Travel for Eastern Canada where he managed more than 20 offices with more than 100 staff, grew profit by 30% with account attrition of less than 1%.  Prior to this he was General Manager, Passenger Sales for Eastern Canada at Canadian Airlines and Director of Sales and Tours for VIA Rail Canada Inc.

Barry has a BA in Psychology from the University of Ottawa and an MBA from McGill University.
